FULL-LENGTH version - by popular request!! Watch this 3-min video. So UPLIFTING and POWERFUL! With the help of a family friend and a roll of duct tape, wheelchair-bound Pascale Honore can now call herself a surfer. Dreams can come true. "I have been in a wheelchair for 18 years after a car accident left me a T4 paraplegic. The first time I saw the ocean I was mesmerized and just wanted to live by the water," says Pascale. "My two sons have grown up surfing, and watching them has made me want to get in the waves with them. It wasn't until Ty's (Tyron Swan) suggestion that I could feel what it's like to be a surfer. Since December we have been surfing a lot, using a backpack bought from K-Mart and a roll of duct tape."
Adds Pascale: "Since the media ran the story we have been overwhelmed with encouragement and emails of gratitude for showing that it is possible to reach your dreams regardless of any limitations."
They are hitting the road on their "Leggless Summer" trip, heading to Western Australia in search of bigger waves, to continue to inspire people to have a dream and make it happen!
The destination is Kalbarri where they plan to meet up with pro surfer Ry Craike and tag along with his "Fish Out Of Water" adventures, and to discover a new part of the world.
They are also raising money, says Pascale, "towards fixing our home on the road, ready for the trip, and for our ongoing promotion of living the life you love."
