Patreon AMA September 2024 Deleuze Negotiations and the History of Western Philosophy

In today's edition of the monthly Patreon AMA sessions, we move on to consider some very interesting questions about Deleuze's take on the History of Western Philosophy as revealed in Negotiations, a very unusual book consisting of some 18 interviews given by Deleuze on a variety of topics from Cinema, to his relationship with Foucault, to Politics, to his work with Guattari. Above all, Deleuze will reject any approach to past thinkers that treats their work as expressions of an Oedipalized subject resulting in a closed system of knowledge that is settled once and for all, favouring instead a more creative approach to the past which engages with it to yield offspring which are so unpredictable as to seem "monstrous."
