I grew up with Gar. He was a couple years older than me. Gar, Chris and my brother were best friends. I visited him in Florida about a year before he passed. We had a great time jamming and recording in his home studio. Gar was a phenomenal drummer, but he was also a great person. Kind, humble and funny.

How I wish Gar and Chris didn't get kicked out.. It was inevitable because of their heavy addictions but man I would have loved more albums with them. Gar is one of my influences and it's really sad he couldn't get sober. Died quite young and not much fame really. Super talented drummer. Dirk is undoubtedly the most skilled drummer Megadeth's ever has though. He's a beast.
