The dude in the TC's hatch is not wearing his CVC and therefore is not in contact with his crew. He is simply a passenger/prop for the film crew while the driver drives around. (Former M1 platoon leader here.)

I love my M1 Abrams, but they won't turn the tide of this war. Tanks are almost completely useless on both sides due to drones. The M1A1 wasn't built for avoiding cheap FPV drones. Ukraine isn't the only side that uses them to detrimental effect either. I just want everyone to manage their expectations. This isn't going to be a repeat of Desert Storm where the M1A1s had the advantage of complete air dominance. However I must say... How about them Bradleys though? Man those things are proving to be WAY more of a game changer than anyone initially thought.

The truth now of course emerges that the Abrams is under-armoured, unreliable and with an engine that is so complicated for the Ukrainians to maintain. Whenever they appear they're being knocked out, with Ukraine now relegating them to secondary line use. If there is one thing that is common to all the game changing western weapons that have arrived in Ukraine, not one of them has actually changed the game, and some like the Abrams and Leopards have been found to be far less Wunderwaffe than claimed.
