Another one of these bargain all Mahogany guitars - very decent for the price. This time a Samick Greg Bennett series D1 NS. Have a gander....

I have the Samick Torino TR1 (SG copy) which is also 'Greg Bennett designed' and I LOVE IT! It's such a great playing guitar! The headstock is designed so it will stay in tune because it goes through the graphite nut straight instead of at an angle.

That is a lovely guitar!
I remember hearing that Greg Bennett used to design guitars for another company, but can't remember which at the moment.

I have a Samick 7 string Strat style that I picked up for$100 bucks that's great for the money. I believe Samick's are certainly underated. As far as the headstock goes we're about out of options without stepping on someone's toes.

I have a 1996 Samick SW-120 Artist series Dreadnaught acoustic that I bought in 1999. (Can't remember what I paid, but it would have been a 3-4 hundred dollars?) With the Spruce top, mahogany body & neck, rosewood fretboard and standard Samick tuners, I truly believe that these are lower end price with higher end sound and features! Hugely underestimated guitars in my opinion.
SW stands for Solid wood, which is why I went for this model instead of the LW (Laminated wood). While there isn't any issue with the LW series, I always wanted to put a pickup in it and the concern I had was it delaminating when the body was cut to install it? I've only just ordered the Fishman Pickup. Can't rush into these things lol

The headstock is different...it’ll never be confused with a Martin. But I kinda like it

I picked one up at a yard sale for $100.
No complaints. All I have had to do is restring it.

Yes, I also am a new fan of the dark mahogany, open pore, satin finished acoustic guitars. I agree. The headstock design is definitely fugly.
