This song kinda sounds like he’s talking about someone in a coma. That the agonizing wait of if “they’re going to wake up and come back or go all the way and pass over” is taking its toll on him and he can’t take the pain of not knowing anymore. Likes he’s stuck holding his breath and just wants to breathe again one way or another.
