This broke my 7 year old heart. I remember this night when it happened. My uncle who lived right next to us at the time. Came down and told us what happened. He listened to the promo on scrabbled ppv. I went into the house and ripped a part my Hulk Hogan shirt my dad got me months before. I remember like it was yesterday ripping it apart being so mad. I was devastated 😂

Had to come back to this after the Cena heel turn. As much as I like the creative direction of Cena turning heel, it pales in execution to this one. Some of it's just a different storyline and place. The invasion angle for WCW was totally different, and was the launching pad for the entire nWo storyline. The build up of Hall and Nash destroying and jumping everyone led to a very much "us versus them" feeling even amongst fans at the time. I was 15 watching it all and had only seen face Hogan. This blew the doors off of it. And then Hogan was just awesome as a heel in this segment. What he does in the ring. Totally selling the run in face save like we saw him do 100X before and then pushing Nick Patrick out of the way and dropping the leg on Macho. Throwing Patrick out... the other leg drop, Hall counting the 3 count. And then legendary commentary. Schiavone, Heenan, Dusty, and even Mene Gene just nailed their parts. And then Hogan cuts one of the best promos of all time as icing on the cake. I like the Cena turn. I like involving the Rock. Dusty's son being the sacrificial lamb is also perfect. Nice work from Cole and McAfee, but not at this level. I loved the promo cut right away by Hogan to fire up the fans and bring on the trash throwing. WWE playing it close to the vest so far with Cena and Rock being full on just silent destruction. Hoping we get some awesome work on the stick from two of the best to do it with Cena and Rock moving forward. Cena heel turn was nice, but felt more like the Evolution face turns to me than the Hogan heel turn at the Bash in 1996.
