old video but correction, everything i have read related to magic lantern including magic lantern website, says it does not void the warranty and this is straight from canon. It will void the warranty if ml caused the damage, which is said to be next to impossible to prove. Magic lantern does not replace ur firmware, and runs the same way any accessory runs through usb using the api's like remotes and such, it is doing the exact same things. Magic lantern just presents u with more options using those api's .

what will happen if my camera is using 1.0.3 firmware, can i still use magic lantern?

You won't be able to see the current firmware version of your camera if the camera is on Video Camera mode.

Whenever I try to use ML with my 600D I always am able to shoot a few second of a great video until it crashes, I assume my SD card isn't up to snuff for the program. is there a specific card/ speed you'd recommend getting to shoot longer?

Needed to record 720 at a lower FPS to get more footage in the 4gb file. ML allows that, so thanks for the help.

im running 1.0.3 on my t3i do i have to downgrade before installing?? magic lantern currently only has firmware 1.0.2 listed

I had a look at the magic lantern site and it seems they aren't supporting the fully fledged version anymore but rather some Beta style version that may or may not work or cause issues with the camera. WTF ?

Also want to make people aware, your camera is not off when u turn it off, that off switch is only putting it in standby mode/ sleep mode.
