In reality, he can't actually read the book he's carrying. The statue can, but it doesn't always oblige him, resulting in his bouts of rage.

This feels like “that boss” which you remember hating as a kid while replaying an old game.

I feel like this would be a good antagonist, like he’s mixing up all of these timelines together, making reality very wonky, and you have to stop him before it gets out of control. Simple but effective like that

I like the detail that when his teeth move the book turns red for a second indicating he is angry

This thing feels like it would be a PERFECT Rayman boss.

I don’t what it is about this that makes it so good. Maybe it’s the music, the movements, or the design, but I love this! Let me at him.

He's that boss that makes puns throughout the entire fight. What else is the book for.

I like that the crown gives off the illusion of an angry face.

The book reads as so:

How to smash statue;
lift up, then down.

I can't get over how perfect that tell is before the statue attack.

Took me 11 rewatches to realize he has some sort of void in his mouth, making the design much cooler than it already is.

He looks like if Beanos and King K Rool were combined and had Master Hand and Crazy Hand as little helper minions while also being stuck to decide between a Victorian Era look and a Steampunk look, but then decided on a mix of the two.

I love him already.

This gives me nostalgia for a thing that doesn't exist.

The book flashes colors determining the next “random” attack

Seems like one of those bosses that you’d find in a rated E game, but actually has some disturbing implications hidden throughout the fight and the levels leading up to the boss.

There is just something about a boss that attacks/moves to the music that's just, so good, it's almost like a dance, with all of the charater comming out of each movement.

*Tick Tock Tower's Tyrant*
*COG-LIGULA*

A poor soul who was once a peaceful ruler. He was supposed to keep Tick Tock Tower ticking over at a steady pace. A very important task, considering that this same clock tower is the machine that functions time itself. He enjoyed his duties and even found the time for his scholarly pursuits. One fateful day, however, he came across a book within his study, one that he had no memory of shelving. Curiosity kills the cat; its pages of nonsense language and arcane fury drove him to madness and transformed him into this unrecognizable monster. He carries a statue of what he used to look like, perhaps as a plea to whatever's left of his soul to reclaim his sanity. That day will never come, however. Now under Cog-ligula's rule, Tick Tock Tower is thrown completely out of whack and with it the flow of time itself. Only by destroying the book can his time finally come to an end.

Attacks:
Statue Smash: Cog-ligula pounds the ground with his statue, producing shockwaves that will shock you if you don't jump over them. You can hear him roar at it before doing this attack, as if he's telling it to be quiet...

Statue Stare: Cog-ligula holds the statue by its base as it shoots continuous red laser beams from its eyes. The beams will follow you until they fizzle out. Keep running or else you'll be roasted.

Crazy Gaze: Cog-ligula's eyes invert color as he shoots a crazed look at you. If you look back at him, his madness will disorient you, inverting your vision and reversing your controls for a short time. Stay away from his line of sight as it casts a bright shadow on the floor.

Death Breath: Cog-ligula spews a large phantasmagoriphic cloud from his mouth that stays on the field for a short time. The cloud will poison you if you stay in it, so escape it as fast as possible.

Fire and Freeze Fables: Cog-ligula reads a story from his book, causing words to literally fly off the pages. If the book is red, the words will be on fire and will jump out the book, homing in on you like missles. If the book is blue, the words will be freezing cold and flow out the book and onto the floor, freezing parts of the ground around Cog-ligula (and you, if you get hit by them.).

Book Buddy: At half health, Cog-ligula will add a hard-back cover to the book, meaning that the book can only be damaged by attacking its pages. The book will then fly out of Cog-ligula's hand and attack you independently, turning into a razor-toothed maw that chase after you. While doing this, the book will also use Fire and Freeze Fables, and Cog-ligula's free to use all of his attacks, too! The trick is to attack its pages while it tries to bite you, otherwise it'll keep shut and block your attacks.

Time Turner: Cog-ligula starts off slow and easy to avoid, but as the fight goes on, he'll accelerate time to make him and his attacks faster. Pay attention to how fast the gears that constitute Cog-ligula are turning to gauge how fast time is moving for him. Watch out! Sometimes he'll slow things down to throw you off!
