I believe it’s actually pronounced ral-say because there’s this book in chapter 2’s cyber field that Susie can vandalize, and she spells ralsei as ralsay, which would make sense if that was how it was pronounced.

We need @HalfBreadChaos on this, sounds super interesting. I wonder if it's not a bug, is it intentionally only happening when we say no? Because if we make Kris say yes, we're lying and ignoring what just happened, and we could be trying to distract Kris with the music or something (tho I don't know if the characters can actually hear the music).

It really seems like by saying no, our lense into the world is temporarily replaced with Kris's perspective. It makes sense that the charecters do not hear music while walking around, the music is nondiegetic, its something we the players experience but is not experienced by the charecters of the world. "Yes" is asserting our dominance over Kris's speech and behavior, No is Kris genuienly communicating their emotions with their friends even if we pulled the trigger. Its unclear the degree to which Kris agrees with MOST of the choices we make for them, but for this choice its clear which reflects kris's inner world.

I think that Toby likely cut the music intentionally, and then put the trigger for the entrance to reactivate the music. He did this first as he recognized that players would likely head to the save point in the entrance, and thus knew most players would opt for that path. Since most players would go this way, it was a priority, but somewhere along the lines he forgot about the fact you could leave the room without going through entrance, and didn't put another music cue in the other room. Thematically, it makes sense for the music to cut out if you say no, because you're expressing the fact you're disturbed, but there is no reason for it to be cut for so many rooms, and only with certain pathing. So again, its likely intentional to cut the music, but a mistake that certain player pathing can leave it excluded for several rooms on.

also it IS ral-say! susie misspells it like that in chapter 1 and toby went out of his way to say it like that during the chapter 1 playthrough stream

I believe the music does not play to put emphasis on what just happened and let you reflect. If the music did play there would be major tonal whiplash and could hinder your ability to theorize and process what you just experienced. If you say yes then you already are trying to hinder Kris' ability to express their emotions and therefore are less likely to need to process the lore implications.

TLDR: If you say yes then you likely dont care about the lore or are being rude on purpose, therefore not needing time to process anything and if you say no then you likely care about the lore implications and need time to process what just happened.

I think toby did it intentionally. I think it's supposed to add to the unsettlingness of the scene

... I always pick no and I don't remember anything mentioned in the video. I might be misremembering but I pretty recently (like a month or two ago) played through the game again I picked no, and I don't remember any of this happening.
