hands down on Oscar II as well. Large boiler tells everything.
I am an old Oscar 1 user here. Got it pre-own, probably it is a 15 year old machine now. NS usually has a lot of mods and parts. A lot of fun for DIYers

In China you can get a brand new one for under $900. have owned Oscar II for 2 years. Pairing with Sette 270 grinder, It makes high quality espresso. At this price point, there is no competition in the market.

I'd have to say if I had a choice, the Oscar, hands down. A nice heat exchanger for under $1500 it's a bargain. My only gripe is there is no hot water so descaling will present a challenge, but again it is on the less expensive side and honestly can get you into the prosumer world for not a lot of money.

The Oscar ll seems an attractive buy to me in order to make a delicious espresso or cappuccino in.a comfortable way
No hassle with temperature surfing or long waiting times to make a cappuccino.

Can you do a review of the new Oscar Mood please? I'm planning on buying it next month and I'd like to see a review done by someone with experience in machines like you guys!

Far better off buying a used Appia because it has standard parts which are available everywhere and anyone can fix this machine. BTW, the selection of coffee, water make a huge difference not to mention that your really need a commercial grinder with easily replaceable burrs.

I don't get why people don't just buy a semi automatic espresso machine. A good part of the skill is distribution and tamping. With a semi you need to weigh the output and time the shot. It allows for more control and its fun.

Dude, the channeling isn't from the quality of the tamp. It's because you just went straight from the grinder heap to tamp. Didn't even do a tap on the portafilter. No fancy ass tamper is going to fix forgetting to distribute 😅

What's the idea behind no OPV on an expensive machine? why is that? and if so - having no OPV and no pressure gauge seems like a massive drawback

Oscar ii hands down as well, no doubt, they are 9bar mod onto the Oscar ii in factory from Italy that we can purchase, and add two of flow restrictor into will make great espresso machine, plus with dimmer mod, it can do blooming profile, londinium profile etc.
