Very good review of this app. I was so thankful because I am accepting a teaching position in a neighboring county and will need to keep track of my commute, also my husband is starting a new business and will need to keep track of his mileage too. Now I know it is worth using. Well done.

So for the personal miles I won’t be charged? Just only for business as long as I notify it as business? I’m new to this stuff about mileage 🙄🤦🏽‍♀️

So far I used this to track one trip from Tucson to home, about 140 miles. The app recorded it as 8 separate trips! I stopped for several traffic lights, a food stop, and a couple of stop signs. It even detected a secret trip my phone made all by itself, a half hour after I went to bed! I was out of wifi range almost the entire time, was briefly out of cell range at about 3 points during the drive, and was back in range within 5 minutes. My 40 free trips a month are disappearing fast. Will this work at all if I go out of cell and wifi range like into a canyon 6 miles and back? Does it use only satellite data? I haven't looked at any how-to details of the app, but being able to use it to record trips by more than one car will be important, as I use 3 for business at different times.

I was using this app to log my Uber and Lyft milage. I started to notice that it was not logging all of the miles that I traveled in any given day. I contacted customer suport and found out the big drawback to this app is that it relies on you having the WiFi being on. In my area of Chicago there are some eXfinity WiFi hot spots that have poor to no internet connection. This causes me to miss ride requests and thus loos money. I have un-instaled this app and on the search for a tracking app that will work without WiFi.

Granted, you still have to export it and track it, so maybe it is not such a bad thing. Guess I need to give it a try, huh?

Parris, great video!

Okay, a thought here, since I've been watching Columbo. . . This app can be used to prove if a person was or was not at the scene of a crime.

Yeah, I know, my brain never stops. LOL!

I do the same routes every week for the payroll company I work for. Is there a way to add in my route for each day because I know exactly where I need to drive every day for work? I drive close too 40k miles a year in my personal vehicle for work. Would this app benefit me?

The premium version is now being offered free with MS Office 365.

Hey Parris, thanks for your review. You showed that you use 2 booklets to verify your mileage, one for each car you use. Does the app know which vehicle you are using or does it really matter? we use multiple cars for our business and keep separate books (pain in the glutius maximus). how does this app take care of that? thanks for your reply

MileIQ is now included in your Office 365 Business subscription.

For the same price you can get Everlance which is a much better mileage tracker (tracks your entire trip, not just start & finish) + expense & revenue tracking.

Hi. Great review. Big Question: IRS requires odometer readings (begin and end) for each deducted trip. Does the .csv or .pdf report provide the odometer info? If not, it's not much help for those looking for a tax deduction.

Yeah IRS will pay you now but in the future you will have to pay taxes to drive...depending how many miles you travel per year

After using this app for a year I found that it recorded FEWER miles that Uber and Lyft for which I was using the app for. I always had the phone with me while doing uber and lyft and it missed more than 5000 miles. While Lyft and Uber reported my miles as 16k MileIQ only report my miles as 11k.
This actually should be the EXACT OPPOSITE, the mileage I used was much more than the Uber and Lyft mileage. MileIQ is an absolute rip off, dont use it.

I was told by my boss that you can't tax deduct trips from home to work..: is that correct?

$6 bucks a month or $60 a year. That's quite a bit of money taking away from your tax deduction just to record miles.

Also, this app will keep an ACCURATE log of miles. I'm quite sure most people will pad their mileage just a bit to get a little more of a deduction. So this app will cost you even more money in the end.
