I give a tour of my ham shack, the equipment I use, the antennas I have, and how the computer interfaces with the setup. I also have a quick RTTY conversation while filming!

Cool video, Kris! Brings back memories...my Dad was big into ham radio when I was a kid. I remember building crystal radio sets with him, learning morse code, and what not. I never picked ham up as a hobby, myself, but definitely appreciate it. As you say in the video, to be able to talk to people around the world with some wire in the air - that's super cool. Thanks for sharing! Skol, Jeff

I love the videos where you show your brilliance. Electromagnetism is a fascinating field. No pun intended.

Nice video and your radio set up. I saw you 32at, very rare to see in California. Big brother of 2gat/02at. Built like a tank. Running $150 to $200 in Ebay. Keep it, thanks, 73! KM6EHD Los Alamitos, California.

Another really interesting video, Kris. Most of it did go completely over my head but I love learning about all kinds of technology. 🙂

Good morning Kris. So good to see this Monday morning wake-up shot from the farm. I love seeing footage of Dixieland. I am actually surprised that it is cloudy there. The sun is usually shining bright. Wow that antenna is huge.
OK, kicking back and enjoying the rest. Most likely learning a thing or two or three too~

Hey Kris, I wish autumn were just beginning here again. This just came too quick...
Well a lot of this is over my head, though is still quite interesting nevertheless. :-) When you were showing the digital radio, it sounded like a bit of an EVP vibe there. Particularly neat about the Morse code and teletype. Thanks for sharing as always. -Carm

Very cool. You seem well-prepared for the coming zombie apocalypse. The only prep I've taken so far is to lay in a supply of liquor (for medicinal purposes of course, wound dressing, disinfectant, pain management, etc.).

Lots of people still use 2m/70cm in my area.

Do you get any interference between the TV and the ham antennas? I have a similar TV antenna, a dual band, and I want to add a multiband HF vertical like a Hustler 6BTV. I've been wondering if having them all in the same place is a bad idea.

Sweet! How has your experience been with that hexbeam? It looks pretty cool. I imagine it's probably on the pricey end of things? Right now, I'm leaning towards an off-center multi-band doublet that's unbalenced so I don't have to screw with ladder line. And I'm still totally considering the icom 7300. So much so that I might pull the trigger in the next couple of weeks.
