Scotland will be ready for Euro 2024 says Steve Clarke after defeat

Scotland boss Steve Clarke says his side need to improve after 1-0 defeat to Northern Ireland but insists his side could be in a worse place.

He's developed a bit of an odd manner of late. I wonder if he's raging at the silly mistakes we have made. To be honest, our performances in the Euro qualifiers may have been over-hyped, we weren't THAT great. Yes we beat Spain 2-0 at Hampden, but the games against Georgia and Norway weren't exactly emphatic. These friendlies have shown that we are good, but swagger a bit too much and aren't clinical in front of goal. Frankly, Germany will demolish us, I was chuffed at their wonky performances last year, but they have turned themselves around, they HAD TO and Hungary looked against Turkey, who Austria soundly beat tonight, too. Switzerland is the team that Scotland MUST beat. If we get 4 points, I'll take that and hopefully that gets us through. But we need to screw the nut in the tense moments, man. Finland are no slouches, that friendly won't be a doddle before we leave for Germany.

It will be a great tournament, hopefully we play great and hold our heads high,
and march on to the Nations League as a hard to beat side, get at least 6 points.

Maybe he wants less injuries for the euros hence why he didnt get the team playing more aggressive because that was a lazy performance no need tae worry aboot wee northern Ireland nobodies
