GLOWINGLY HAPPY to announce I got a perfect bleed on this system using only one syringe, threaded into the pump end. Bike laid on side - brake cables disengaged - loosen pump to swing into best position - attach full syringe to it - attach fitting with about 12" length of open hose to caliper (removed to enable best positioning and hose in more or less a straight line - end of that caliper hose, secured in a reservoir to catch the fluid. Inject at the pump, keeping an eye on the bubbles emerging through the caliper's (clear) hose. Paused a few times and pumped the lever a few time, then resumed. When all looked good, detached caliper hose and quickly installed sealing screw. (my version did not have bleeder screws) first. Then removed the syringe and replace its screw. No two syringes-no shut-off clips on them-no two positions of the bike-no nonsense.

nice...  thanks for the help!
I was doing my own tune up.  My first time to bleed disc breaks.  It took me 4 tries, but I finally got everything working as new.  Each try I watched the video again to pick up on the details that I was doing wrong.

One quick DIY note...  I couldn't find a bleed block like the one in the video.  BUT, I just used the old pads that I was replacing and stuck a cut piece of shim (like used in framing)... thus, the old pads plus the shim doubled as my block...  good enough if you don't do this for a living...

One quick note to any other first timers...  the syringes can create a vacuum to help pull bubbles up as described in the video, BUT it can also let air in at the bottom if you do it too long (and have the other side open).  The various fittings and hose attachments are not NASA space approved.  I had this problem.  So, the pull on the syringe to create the vacuum should be done gently and short-ish (i.e. no multi tasking of savoring a full beer while you pull... air might seep in if you drink too slow.)

cool...
