I encountered these Camponotus compressus ants digging a nest entrance. These ants dig nests usually in the early mornings after it has rained either earlier that morning or the previous night. There was much activity across many species which were similarly digging that morning. Possibly because the soil was moist and amenable to digging.

Thanks for the video. I was struggling to know if camponotus compressus ants can dig or not until now and was not able to identify the species.
