The 40km range is only true in warm temperatures. Here up north, now that it is cold, we barely get 20km on a full battery

Hey Andrew Bardwell - thanks for this video. My wife and I recently purchased the CX-90 PHEV Premium Plus model, and after watching your video, I bought the ChargePoint Home Flex Level 2 Charging Station and installed it with a 240V 14-50 outlet. We have had this installed in mid-July and after a month of charging the vehicle, I have observed that it only charges with a rate of 4.5 kWh. Is this the max and normal? I was thinking it would be faster. At this rate it takes 4 hours if drained. That seems slow to us for this home level 2 charging. Please let us know. Thanks.

Maybe would be best to iron out the bugs with the EV system and figure out how to make it more reliable. "Hybrid malfunction" error seems to be cropping up on some mazda PHEV owners. Also the lack of the heat pump makes the "star of the show" the EV portion almost useless. At least in Canada where the winters are known to be harsh.Out of the 42km official range when the temperatures drop below 0C good luck getting maybe 10Km. which will defy the purpose of spending an arm and a leg on a hybrid system. The preheating option in your app is useless and seems to be causing more troubles than it's worth it.All in all the car drives very nice, is well put together overall but all the little details missed by Mazda add up making it a not so good alternative to the competition

You do realize that in EV mode you are "burning" electrons and electricity is not free. 25 miles of EV range on 16 Kwh of battery capacity or 25 miles (EPA) on one gallon of gas combined driving. So, the most you can save in EV mode is one gallon of gas. My electric rate (including tax and fees is 0.20 per Kwh or $3.20 to charge that battery. Just filled up at Costco at $3.05 per gallon. For me it would be cheaper to run in hybrid mode than EV.
