In this video we take a look at some results from our setup in Part One.
I discuss the capability of this go kart and take it to the next level.

Equipment:
Motenergy ME0708 DC Motor
Alltrax SPM48300 Controller
Cole Hersee 24144BX Solenoid (200A continuous)
0 - 5k potentiometer throttle and footswitch combo
Turnigy Li-Po batteries in custom arrangement.

Make sure you check out the previous part if you want to know more about the origin of the go kart and see what parts we used before.

Thanks for watching, please feel free to message if you have any questions, I will do my best to answer them.

Living The Dream man ! Y'all doing great stuff. Keep at it ( know you will ) Wish I was closer and 40 years younger, I'd love trying to help. I got to do some stuff in my welding / construction shop but this is a burner in my mind. All the best. Will tag along. Thanks !

Can't wait for part 3!

I just scored a Monaco kart for cheap in great condition and have been trying to find a cost effective build.

I wanna go fast!!!

Those batteries are definitely the limiting factor now. Get something a bit more substantial into it and crank it up to 300a!

I am looking at building an electric road race kart. When I saw the size of your battery pack, I didn't think it would hardly move. Surprising it is quick as it is, well done.

You've given me some great ideas on where I can save money and what I could do when I go to build my own. I'm hoping I can sweet talk my boss to letting me take a "bad" frame from one of our Sodi RTX karts home.

awesome! With some metal brackets, you should have a monster kart on your hands, keep it up. Thanks for the videos

Old vid but I just got a setup similar with AllTrax 300amp controller and didn’t realize I had to hit set button when programming so I maxed everything out with some huge lipos hooked up at 48v. 250amp was scary as hell. Seriously got to 50mph asap chirping tires along the way trying to swap left and right like a damn video game. I’ve had some karts before with 12hp motors and this blows those away. Those are boring and this scared me to get to full throttle. Tires are bad and but bumpy so that doesn’t help and first test but I also can’t pull 250amps all day long. Batteries really rated for 100amp so 50over is really bad. Fun test run tho now time to pull settings back.

Awesome work very neat project. Get a crimper but, that solder joint wont last long @100A!

48v @ 60amps should be much quicker off the line than the video shows. I used a simple 40amp dimmer switch pwm controller for £9 with a my1020 brushed motor in an old mobility scooter and it looks quicker than your 60 amp setting. Have you tested the output of the controller? I like your adventurous creativity btw, impressive stuff. It can be just as exciting building as driving sometimes.

A electric dirt/off road go kart build would be a great idea!

Hey Handy. I see you're in Perth. Good series, enjoying it...

The battery probably is the biggest problem.. I would need a minimum of 3000€ of batteries to get my ME1003 to running on full power without using lipo

I am looking to build a vehicle myself with electric motors in it, weight is a factor and batteries are too heavy for my application so I am looking into a nitro methane powered generator. Your kart looks like it will be fun when completed.

First time I saw your channel. I subscribed. Looks cool. I'm a Carpenter/cantractor too. I love all this kind of stuff; thinking of starting a channel of my own.

I have a 4 stack of leaf modules (8s, about 30v) for my electric gokart. I was peaking over 300a (the max of my meter) on acceleration... until I snapped the motor shaft. That motor looks like a nice upgrade for me, although I have this idea for using a high power ebike hub motor I may go with.

I'm thinking about switching one of my gas go karts you electric!

Who the hell has a "scrap copper bin" like that ?! We have people in the UK stealing cables on the railways while the power is still on!
