INTERESTING ABOUT SHORT WORDS AND SHORT SENTENCES IN KJV.

Pastor: Refers to the Anglican Church as 'Protestants' without qualifications.
Anglicans: Explode.

Also, mentioning when Catholics were naughty but not mentioning when Protestants did so is very cheeky.

I'm not KJV-best or anything, but all the teaching I do (what little I do) is KJV (unless I have a specific reason to use another version - for example, I might use the Challoner or NAB with Catholics, or RSV if the ye olde englysshe gives them indigestion, since the RSV is my preferred modern translation). There's two reasons. First, for some people, KJV == Bible == KJV, and they won't accept anything else. (e.g., Mormons) Second, it's the one fixed universal standard. It's not going to change - it's kinda like Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever. XD And as much as I see the benefit of modern translations, to lose the KJV and its tremendous influence on our English *idiom*, it would be a terrible loss.

KJV was a good translation in 1611 but the 1611 archaic english can cause misunderstanding. Nowadays, people are able to read shakespeare via annotations and it is also possible to understand the KJV with annotations that explain the archaic 1611 english.
Some bibles and study bibles have explanations for archaic words on the same page as the kjv text (some also make minor translation corrections).
Norton Critical Edition of The English Bible, King James Version. OT by Herbert Marks. NT by Gerald Hammond, Austin Busch. Has footnotes to explain the archaic english.
Companion Bible by E.W. Bullinger has explanations for many words in the margins.
Newberry Reference Bible has explanations for many words in the left margin and right margin.
KJV Scofield Study Bible III, Westminster Reference Bible have definitions for archaic words in the left margin and right margin.
Life Application Study Bible has definitions after the text section.
Holman kjv study bible has definitions in the footnotes.
Rock Of Ages Study Bible, Henry Morris Study Bible, Reformation Heritage Study Bible, Defined KJB have definitions for archaic words in the footnotes
Open Bible, subject bible have end of verse definitions for archaic words.
KJVer sword bible has updated some of the words in the text itself such as straightaway=immediately plus end of verse definitions for archaic words.
Thomas Nelson Study Bible has the definitions and alternate translations in the center column.
Standard Lesson Teacher's Study Bible has explanations on the right column.

You can thank the Anglican Church for the KJV. It originally included the Deuterocanonical books. But you have taken away from God's Word by removing the Deuterocanonical books. So you altered God's Word and distorted it. KJV onlyism is a heresy.

NKJV and MEV are probably better translations of the textus receptus.
