Yes, cats do make excellent pet companions, but so do all animals. I have 3 cats that love me unconditionally, and I give them all the same love back. They love it when I try to make sense of what they want when they talk to me, and in a strange way I do, when I talk to them, they seem to know what I'm saying as any animal would if you talk to them.
I love my 3 little guys, wouldn't trade them for any reason.
