When Gerapetritis stated << Let me also be characterized as a meiodote if we are to have a peaceful neighborhood >> I believe it was a response to Samaras' (former leader of New Democracy) statements about << Aegean Prespes >> and that << Gerapetritis is a meiodote >> whoever Samaras wants to attack ND even though they were expelled (I think) and with this statement he is trying to distance the rightists (who for many years have been 90% of ND) at the same time that ND is trying to take a more right-wing direction. Now, Gerapetritis may have meant that he can do something really good for the peace of the neighborhood (which benefits Greece) and be characterized as a meiodote. The problem is that it is not clear what he means, although he never said he was going to give the islands to the Turks. So this statement can be interpreted in many ways.
