How To Easily Defeat Lynels: Zelda TotK

In this video we will take a look at how to easily defeat Lynels in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. We will be using Puffshrooms and a wet Zora weapon to defeat this Lynel.

It is possible to encounter Lynels when exploring Hyrule's surface or Hyrule's Depths.

The Lynel is one of the most dangerous enemies in Tears of the Kingdom, but even this towering beast can be chopped down to size by using flurry rushes, Puffshrooms and parries.

If you have a picture of the Lynel, you can set it as a target for your Sensor+, through the Compendium, to detect when one is nearby.

i cant believe they buffed lynels in this game. they already had OP attacks, now they're even better

This is the best lynel guide I've seen, it isn't some non commentary "look at me with all the best gear" bs. I love how you include "these items will help" without saying they're required, plus those items are relatively easy to obtain. This is an amazing strat that doesn't require autobuilds and zonaite devices (save for the "helpful but not necessary" mention of the steering stick) or stupidly powerful endgame weapons and fusions.

I eat Lynels for breakfast nowdays, love the fights with them and of course their drops. One tip though, if you mount him your weapon will not get damage but i guess everyone knows that by now.

A good thing to do for every lynel is to save just before. If you're not used to it and you have time, you can train up yourself dodging and parrying. That'll help with windows for puffshrooms and splash fruit. Also, don't panic. You got a save.

Cool tips. Forgot to mention bullet time when the lynel throws you off his back. More stuns/mounts.

One notable thing that goes unmentioned in this video is that weapon durability is not consumed while attacking Lionel’s that you’ve mounted. This also applies to fused materials.

Beat the silver Lynel and every time he drew his sword when triggered I had a small window to toss a puffshroom in his vicinity. I smoked him without him even taking a swing at me. I used that tree for concealment approaching initially.

I'll have to get some more of those Puffshrooms, if they're this effective.
I just found and engaged a Blue Lynel on the beach after helping the third Monster Squad defeat the nearby pirate ship on the south beach, and I was fighting it armed with my previous BOTW experience.
Leap from my horse, shoot him in the face, mount and attack... shield-parry subsequent attacks, shoot him in the face, etc... took me a little while, but I did win the encounter.
(It was only the first Lynel I've encountered in the whole game and I wanted to be sure I could still handle myself against one... especially after I saw how OP a Phantom Ganon or a Gleeok is)

Just a reminder, attacking while on a lynel's back doesn't do any durability damage to your weapons, so you can just use the same op weapons just for beating lynels every time. But the steering stick is cool.
