Flash and SWF Tools in Linux

I will install Swftools using Wine and Vineyard. I demonstrate Macromedia Flash 8 Professional running under Linux.

@LinuxSpatry Runs perfect in wine, you do need to install flash player in order to watch previews.

just on a safe note: Swivel is not meant for flash devs. It's a mere swf video converter only that gives outstanding results. I heard about it from flash animators that make cartoons on youtube as some youtube cartoonists dislike the newer versions of flash as I do so we use swivel to bring you HQ non interactive VIDEO content. Swivel is not good for swf files like games or what ever, its merely video/audio conversion. Peace.

What about Swishmax? It's a fully featured flash editor with hundreds of ready to use examples bundled in it.. I used to use that to develop flash for a number of projects over the years, I've always preferred Swishmax over Flash & Fireworks just for ease of use as I am no flash designer and I can't write actionscript but I am a programmer so anything outside of my comfort zone I need an easy solution.

i wonder if swivel works in wine? Have you heard of it? It's for windows but it makes perfect conversion of swf files to youtube videos. It's perfect for flash 8 since it fails at quicktime! :P

How's flash 8 pro in linux? Are you able to use it lag free? No crashing? I need flash..

oh well if that works for you because if you put audio in your animation the pngs really don't export audio thats why i recommend it but if you perfer the png method then more power to you. :P

no u shud try swivel its the most amazing software get it from new grounds. Just install adobe air in your wine and see if it runs. Its real great. Best quality. U publish your SWF then it recodes it to HD youtube format. It's the best thing out there for flash 8. It can even do TRANSPARENT VIDS that you can later layer up in your video editor to create effects. :D
