Can the Whole World Adopt the Circular Economy Model?

The European Union efforts to accelerate the transition towards a circular economy across its members will inevitably have consequences outside of Europe. Will international trade act as a springboard for globalising a circular economy? Are certain circular economy practices, such as remanufacturing, currently hindered by a lack of access to certain markets?

To discuss the far-reaching implications, we will have the Foundation’s Executive Lead of the International Institutions & Governments, Jocelyn Bleriot and Marianne Kettunen, the Head of Global Challenges and Sustainable Development Goals Programme at Institute for European Environmental Policy (IEEP). During this session, they will draw upon the 2019 report produced by the IEEP.
