Who are Kara and Nate?!

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married 2013 and were super “normal.” I was a teacher and Nate started a small printing business from the spare bedroom of our apartment.

We discovered the world of “travel hacking” while planning our honeymoon & became addicted ;)

So after 2 years of obsessively saving $35k and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016 for a “one year” trip around the world.

Our goal was to see as many places as possible before we ran out of money and went back home to “normal life.” We started this travel vlog to share our experiences with friends and family, but quickly fell in love with living on the road and found a new passion for capturing our travels through video. So we did everything we could to keep going.

4 years later, we achieved our new goal of visiting 100 countries and all 7 continents. We had no plans to slow down, until 2020 forced us to ;) Which is when we bought a converted van to start exploring our own country for the first time.

After ~2 years of van life, we are back to full time traveling! And now we are finding the best adventures the world has to offer :)

We are incredibly grateful to be able to continue doing something we love every day. 😊🎥🌎 Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our journey!

This might be my new favorite video series from Ya'll! The way you interacted with the locals, the culture, the fear, the joy, the MUMMY! This had everything! I couldn't look away lol

Nate is the MVP, he filmed while sick and didn’t let us miss anything

As a Spanish-speaker, seeing you two trying so hard to communicate while also being so, so respectful to them just warms my heart. I had a smile on my face the entire time. The family you stayed with was there when you two needed them moth. How wonderful you two are and the joy you two bring with you.

Guys, your Spanish has gotten so good. I’m proud of you.
The interaction with the locals especially the kids was so cute!

Loved seeing the family who took you in when you were in need. My father traveled the world as a news correspondent for ABC and when I decided to move away from the States and live in Japan he gave some advice that I've kept with me all these years: No matter where you are, you will find that the vast majority of the people will do everything they can to help you when you are in need. It doesn't matter where you're from, what you believe in, etc. If you need help, people will help. It's nice to see his words ringing true in Peru as well. A wonderful moment of kindness and compassion.

I love the mix between the swanky expensive, far out crazy, and completely off the beaten path (so much that you may need a machete) adventures that you experience and share with us. From staying in a $1Million RV to sleeping in a stranger's Peruvian kitchen that has a bed (??), you two really have a crazy, but incredible life!!

the family y’all stayed with were soooo adorable. laughing so much at Kara holding the Guinea pig and looking down at it saying “ohhh they’re gonna eat you”😂

Of all the thousands of episodes y’all have filmed - Nate turning off the light and exclaiming in the dark “just us… and the guinea pigs.” Was by far the funniest/best line ever. 🤣😂😅

Kara and Nate make me so very proud that they are Americans: Struggling very hard to speak Spanish (and getting better!), being courteous, trying not to judge local people based on their own customs and culture, and being wonderfully appreciative of people who help along the way. Thank you both very much!

Hi guys, been a big fan for about 3 years now, I'm 62 years old, retired, and have to say, when I watch ALL your videos I am smilingly throughout.
I don't watch a lot of other videos, but I make sure to watch all of yours. Thank you for what you're doing AND KEEP DOING IT❤ BTW this is my first comment ever to anyone

This is my favorite episode of Kara and Nate. I love their adventurous spirits! The interaction between them and the village kids was so priceless. I know videos like this must be hard to make, but it’s totally worth it. Great work!

This is so goood! As a silent watcher of your channel just had to pop on and give kudos to some amazing content. I’ve visited Peru and you captured the beauty (and chaos) of it perfectly. You’re both true adventurers and so respectful of the cultures you visit. Also Kara is an inspiration to women everywhere. ❤

I love the kind, patient way in which Kara talks to the locals. Nate is also very respectful, it's just that Kara has this softness in her voice.

Thank you for being so willing to integrate into other cultures and not expect American standards behaviors and accommodations when traveling abroad. You two are awesome!

As a rider, who once got lost in the middle of nowhere in Philippines in the middle of the night and had to ride on gravel for about 2 hours. I can imagine how numb your hands were feeling after the end of the first day. Kudos for you for trying this and surviving, I presume. You guys are beyond brave and an inspiration.

Those kids are just pure kindness at its finest! I truly think y'all are nuts, but I'm happy to see the human experience of rural Peru. Next week looks just lovely!

28:16 - another adventure and another bout of Kara feeling badly. It’s times like these when I’d like for her to read comments like these: that no matter how many times she falls or busts some equipment. She always gets right back up and doesn’t quit. Adventure after adventure, there’s Kara getting pumped and psyching herself for the journey ahead. I absolutely love that spirit! It make you see and experience so much more of life than just quitting. You are an inspiration!

One of the best videos in a long time. I felt like we needed the old Kara and Nate on an adventure like this. I have been watching since the end of year one. I felt like something was missing recently, and now it's back.
