So commonly Christian’s judge when we ourselves are taught to love, not judge. I hear my family saying horrible things, like others cannot believe different things. Everyone is human and has the right to believe in their own right. The same applies to love. Controlling who one loves never made sense to me. That is never the way to go about educating and sharing your beliefs. This is coming from a Christian btw. Brains are wired differently, and while my beliefs do not align with same sex relationships or changing your gender assigned at birth, my beliefs should not be forced into others who believe differently. the beauty of being human is our individuality. ❤

As a Christian I feel there is a true message here that those of the faith truly need to hear, I'm eager to hear the rest of the song and hope that it has the same sentiment of bridging that gap, sadly many "believers" are more focused on pushing thier beliefs/judgements on others rather than embodying their faith and showing the grace and love they have been shown.

I was in a straight relationship last year, and that’s the relationship I relate to this song. My ex boyfriend and I had been dating for about 2 years. His family loved me, he loved me, and I loved him. He was aware I am bisexual and asexual. He was also aware I am Hellenic pagan. His family wasn’t. Something about his family and him was they were extremely Catholic. When his family found out they forced him to break up with me or they would kick him out. Love was the law and religion was taught.

He doesn’t want to pressure His people, He wants to protect them. And the Pharisees who thought they knew everything, yet their hearts were so far away from the Lord, were offended by His true words. my boyfriend's parents are conservative Christians, I'm a bisexual Atheist (maybe pagan, still figuring things out some). my boyfriend has an older brother who married an Atheist man and his parents broke down crying and talked about disowning him cause of this. and they tried to get my boyfriend into dating their neighbors daughter because she was Christian and they didn't like that I wasn't. his parents still dont approve of me, and while some of their reasons were good because i made some bad mistakes, their main reason was just because in their eyes im a curse to their son and i will only weigh him down, im almost starting to believe them that im only hurting him but at the same time just seeing that sweet man light up as soon as im in his line of sight is enough to help me believe im not a bad girlfriend <3
