To be fair, potions heal dice amounts, which means your character is probably spilling some of it so they can drink faster

In the PHB page 153 potions of healing are deacribed as vials and vials are containers with a capacity of 4 ounces. It should be a shot in a container with no bottle neck.

My fighter always uses their sword to saber off the top of their potions before just sort of throwing them into their mouth, which is how I explain away bonus action healing
