of Liver Diseases, shares her research on Treatment of Women With Hepatitis C Diagnosed in Pregnancy: A Co-located Treatment Approach.

“We know that hepatitis C can be transmitted from the mother to the baby, and in this study, we tried to delineate a viral load cutoff... which increases that risk of transmission to the fetus," says Dr. Kushner.

Tatyana Kushner, MD, MSCE is Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Liver Diseases at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Her clinical practice encompasses the full spectrum of liver diseases, with a focus on viral hepatitis (hepatitis B,C, and D) and women with liver disease, including pregnancy-related liver conditions and reproductive health as it pertains to liver disease.

Her research interests is in developing improved detection and management of viral hepatitis during pregnancy, and improved understanding of the interaction of liver disease with pregnancy. Her work has been published in numerous gastroenterology and liver journals.
