GPD WIN Max - Nintendo Switch Emulation Test [Yuzu]

This is an emulation test using a compilation of Nintendo Switch games on the GPD WIN Max with the Yuzu emulator. Compared to the WIN 2, the WIN Max can handle a lot more games at playable speeds. In this video, I test Pokemon Let's Go, Pokemon Sword, Link's Awakening, and Super Mario Odyssey.

AAA games like Devil May Cry 5, Resident Evil 3, and something older but graphically intense like Dead Space 2 or 3, or Mad Max.


PS3 games like Skate 2, lollipop chainsaw, Shadows of the Damned, which really push the emulator.


Wii/GCN games with HD upscaled settings

PSP with custom textures (Metal Gear Peace Walker has a full HD conversion texture packfor psp)

Omg! When the video first starts I didn't see the switch there, I thought there was a 6in screen between the analog sticks on the gpd max!!! Damn that would've made this a INSTANT buy for me, you got me good there..

It's interesting to note how during the battle at 2:19, there's some attacks which were laggy the first time and then not laggy after that. Is it then possible, from an emulation standpoint, to compile all those things that it normally loads on-the-fly, and store that into memory, so that it can prevent lag later on? I understand it would result in a massive startup time increase for the game, but for some situations it would be a fair tradeoff....

Thanks Taki. Always interested in GPD products even if they are a bit on the pricey side (I've owned 2 GPD XDs but the hinge screen connection broke on them). Would you ever consider doing a GPD special, showing an emulation comparison for each of the models? Since some are more affordable than others.

you might be surprised that the switch runs its games at a solid 30 too

This is really cool for in the distant future. It gives is a greay way to keep playing these games portable even after the Switch is dead. But for now I’ll stick to my Switch to play Odyssey.

I would love to see this little unit be used in an E-GPU setup for a mobile / desk setup. The fact that it has a TB3 usbc litteraly gives me a hard on, if the CPU isn't a massive bottleneck this could potentially be amazing for a small mobile computer / Home E-GPU setup..

yuzu emulator is improving every week... soon this will be VERY playable... and after that it will run games better than the switch itself (like higher draw distance etc) just like the previous handheld devices.
