seismics were not brought down from "6 to 4" shots, they were extremely nerfed from 24 to 8(+2 weakend lascanons) shots... its an absurd nerf that is beyond any reason.
you have to take 2 mining lasers now, so you always want to split fire or get extremely screwed on your profiles.

This army is losing a lot of identity. The guerrilla approach is what made it different to say, a Tyranid horde, where its a huge show of force. Being unable to set fear in the opponent by springing out of the dark with scary oneshot damage just makes us a bit plain.

You failed to mention the other nerf Aberrants got, their offensive output got trashed as well. That is what put it over the top for me, nerfing either their survivability or their damage output might have been workable - but both? No thanks, back to the shelf, better luck in 11th.

The Rockgrinder change sucks as well. If there is one model that deserves to have impact hits, surely its the rockgrinder...

Biosantic is the detachment with my greatest interest. I loved messing around with muscle beach with the index. That is not a lot worse but there might be legs to it still. Xenocreed does have the best rules and seems to support the aspects we are strongest at. Squads hiding and then moving a surprising speeds to attack forward moving enemies. Brood brothers might be very good for meta reasons. Gsc does not have a lot of good answers to hard targets and the needs to Aberrants and demo charges compound that problem. Taking a couple a leman Russ tanks or a shadow sword to go with ridgerunners might be one of our most consistent answers to a greater demon.

As a Tyranid player I am so sad for my cultist friends..
I am where you are now. and my hopes of getting out of where I am are drastically shrinking with this coming out as it did.

The biggest nerf was identity. We went from guerilla to attrition and for anyone who painted their squads of 20 neophytes to match their weapon profiles like I did just got a serious kick in the teeth because the paint scheme and army comp i just finished now makes zero sense. The only way they were truly successful is making you have to rebuild your army. Here's to hoping for points cost to make sense.

Seismic cannons loosing the 2 shots is honestly BS. You can't have 4 in the unit. So you're not just loosing 4 shots in 2 guns you're loosing 16 shots.

You have missed a trick with the Benefictus and to 10 neos and put them in a truck then add the enhancement to get +1 to hit while using the firing deck. Now he has 2 shots hitting on 2s, any failed hazardous goes on the truck. Then 10 Neos shoot get lethal on all of their shots. Duplicate this with the enhancement where you get plus 1 to hit once you disembark. You suddenly have mobile, 20 lethal shots on 3s and 4 lascannon shots on 2s. Depending on points it could be a good shooty little unit.

Wow. The Kelemorph lose both Precision, Sustained Hit D3 on his gun and the ability to pop at 3" of the enemy if there's a battleline unit near in exchange of -2 PA (useless, because he doesn't has précision anymore). He wasn't even strong before, now it's utter crap

to make it lose its best ablity and give it on that is just flat our worse, like we are not sturdy enough as GSC to bother falling back from so why bother

TLDR: I actually think Brood Brothers is going to be highly underrated, it has a lot going for it.
Kasrkin with a cadian castellan with the +1 ap is insane. Most places are ruling they still benefit from their ability orders since it's not tied to their keyword. So you give their rapid fire +1, plasma with -3 ap regular or -4 on overcharge is a lot of punch, plus you can fire into combat to really hammer down big threats and that's all with sustained thanks to the castellan. Then you also have the 8 shots from the volley gun with ap -2 you're forcing a lot of saves and something is going to get through. You can also take the meltas so even a land raider in cover is saving on a 6+. Shooting into combat can also help you. Run up, throw a full squad of demolition charges (even nerfed they will still add up) then have a foward vehicle to cult ambus them right back into the frey to do it again.
Also, what I think is the best guard tech is vanquishers and heavy weapons teams. 3x lascannon shots for 60 points help shore us GSCs big armor weakness. You can alsotake a vanquisher. A safe far back tank to cult ambush kasrkin back be it for late game secondary scoring or just another wave of value. Plus str 18 vanquisher with rerolls to wound natively can near guarentee your ability to take out whatever key centerpiece an enemy needs or will give you too much trouble.
Oh, also kasrkin have to vox caster, which means now that you just reduce the cost of strats not gain cp you can take vox casters to gain cp every time you use any of the multiple good strats you have

The rules are really fun, and I'm cool with the datasheet nerfs but we're going to need *significant* points cuts

Only thing that truly bothers me is the change to return to the shadows. The strat isn't only not that great now, but the entire game mechanic for the index detachment has been removed

Here gw goes, making codexes worse than the index again.

That being said, I'm glad that there are more ways to play GSC now, but we really need some points cuts now.
