The F-15EX is in trouble. Taken from some sources, the Eagle II program might end much quicker than previously planned. What happened with the program, and what are the implications of this development to Indonesia's fighter program?

Three twin engine fighters are unnecessary. They need to focus on the Rafale to replace the Su 30 and F-15EX that would reduce the amount of money necessary to keep them operational. They also need to get the funding for the KF-21 and with the Sukhoi aircraft, F-15EX and Rafale all flying together this will be nearly impossible as the Sukhoi program isn't one aircraft but two different types with both a very high maintenance cost. Using the F-16 and the Rafale together with the light strike FA-50 will be the best short term option.

Building the KF-21 and a single engine aircraft in Indonesia would be the next step. By the time they have finished the KF-21 program the US will be open to export of the F-35A to other countries than NATO if not Sweden is open to give the Gripen E in license production as they are winding down production in favour of the Tempest program.

Terimakasih atas informasinya.namun saya Tidak yakin membeli Rafale lagi adalah ide bagus.rafale terlalu banyak menerima orderan.saking banyaknya pesanan pertama kita butuh 3+ tahun untuk datang.apakah mungkin jika memilih pesawat lain(contohnya Gripen) sebagai pengganti f-15ex adalah pilihan lebih baik daripada memesan Rafale lagi?

Fokus ke F-16 eMLU (jika bisa diperbanyak jadi 2 skuadron). F-16 blok 52 ID dipertahankan 2 skuadron. Jika bisa beli F-16 viper 2 skuadron. Rafale disegerakan, setidaknya 4 skuadron. Tetap fokus untuk pengadaan IFX. Mudah-mudahan 4 skuadron. Sudah cukup, 3 tipe dari sumber berbeda. Anggaran kita terbatas, jadi yang realistis saja.

this is The common Problem when Indonesia want to buy a new weapons systems. sometimes the people on the Ministery of Defense only saw what they can do rather then how can we keep this weapoms system still in operational for a longer time. I think the Ministery of defense should Focus on 3 Main project that Currently going and need more Funding from the Goverment. the First is the Upgrade of the F-16, The second is The Rafale purchase Program with France and the last is the KFX/IFX Project.

Kok setelah aku pikir2 aku ga setuju ya sama kontrak ga jelas itu dan latar belakangnya karna "meningkatnya ancaman Ranjau & Emng Militer Indonesia menggunakan Ranjau Darat. Pertanyaannya juga klo misalkan iya (ada persebaran senjata ranjau/RPG di militia lokal) bukankah lebih baik mencegah persebaran ranjau & IED/RPG itu sendiri melalui invest kemaritiman atau udara kok malah beli MRap Ampe 250 kemarin kesannya gagah2an aja y sama negara Asean lain? Aku pribadi masih ngerasa we can afford dead ground unit daripada alutsista atau wilayah dikuasai dari udara Ama laut

If we cancelled the F-15ID, we can choose latest Tranche of the Eurofighter Typhoon. It's also double-engined, have higher afterburner speed (M2.2), can also supercruise, and have similiar payload to Rafale

It's the best choice for now

Really depends on the mission they plan to use them for, if they want to use them as drone controller the F-15EX is a must.

War is about logistic ... Just pick one type of the two . Either we go full F15 or Full Rafale all the way ...
We don't live in the perfect world anyway ...

Really we should stick with the Rafale procurement program and the KF-21, F-15 is nice but simpler logistic is better
