As a tesla owner and future rivian buyer the supercharger just works. Just plug in and charge no fiddling around with screens and credit card. It just works plug and go

Great video! Rivian announced it will adopt Tesla's NACS Charging format to their vehicles via Adapters in 2024 and via direct NACS Charge Port in 2025.

I'm glad to see the charger network expanding/retrofitting. 57 cents per kWh seems quite high

The elegant Tesla wand should have been the standard vs that HUGE CCS brick.

All electric vehicles should have the charging port in the same location that would make it easier for everyone

Great review. As a Tesla MYP owner and share holder I'm all for this. Pretty sure Elon and his minions have a plan to manage this so NO ONE gets screwed when traveling and charging. Its a WIN-WIN-WIN and while I have a CCS adapter so far my experience has been 50/50 using EVGo and EA stations. In 3+ years owning a Tesla I can honestly say I have NEVER had a bad charging experience.

Great story. Great addition to inventory gas and supply at Tesla sales

Wow. I never knew. Is this for real?? As a Tesla owner and possible future Rivian owner this is amazing.

Hey thanks for this. Very helpful as we navigate our choices in the EV world!

As per the cost, please note that with the $12.99 plan per month plan, you get the same price as Tesla drivers. As much as 30% cheaper. You can choose to only pay for that month that you're going on a long road trip. Or you can pay a one time payment of $99 for a whole year. That's basically the cost of one fill-up on an ICE F-150.

So yeah, it's still cheaper than gas even if you can't charge at home.

Why can't we standardize the charge point location? As a Tesla owner this will get frustrating at busy stations as you're essentially taking up 2 bays since this is on the front drivers side...
However, I love that there is an option for charging non-Tesla vehicles, as the Tesla Supercharger Network is amazing, and simple to use.

also, is the speed of charge significantly slower??? That seems really slow to charge for over an hour

Appreciate the attempt to explain the different charging port locations and the challenges associated with charging a Rivian at a Tesla Supercharger, but man, made me dizzy!

So a Tesla parked on your driver's side would be blocked from charging?

So does the green charge lighting turn off once it stops charging so you can sit in a restaurant sipping on a coffee and see when it's done?

The only negative is that you are essentially taking up 2 spots to charge 1 car. A Tesla cannot park next to you and use the charger that is now empty because the plug will not reach.

You should pay more to use a Supercharger. It's a premium experience over the EA, or Chargepoint experience, meaning mostly reliability.

You need the Tesla app. It would be nice if we can just use the Rivian app in the future like with the Rivian Adventure Network

Please note that if all non-Teslas park next to each other and take the stall to their left; while Teslas also park next to each other but take the opposite stall on the other side of the site, only 1, or at worst 2, stalls will be lost in all even if the rest are all full.

Also, Tesla has now upped the maximum AMP's for non-Teslas to 500, so the Rivians can now achieve over 200kW's charging speeds at Superchargers.
