You have obviously found very creative tailors or designers really. What fabulous work they do.

Katie is going to be booked and BUSY after this video, even more so than i imagine she probably already was. really impressed with her providing an actual solution that will also look cooler. all the tailors i've worked with in the past wouldn't have thought of a solution like that. they'd have just taken the length from the waist and handed it back to you in 2-3 days. can really tell Katie loves making her clients feel good in what they wear too. and that shirt! wow. mannnn, she/the company should start their own youtube channel lol

would love to find someone similar in London, if anyone has any recommendations.

I'm a woman with nonstandard proportions and spent too much of my life wearing ill fitting clothing because I was too - intimidated I guess - to go to the tailor. I finally started going and it's made such a huge difference. When my clothes actually fit, I wear them more and am less inclined to buy more and more chasing the elusive out-the-box 'perfection'. And my outfits just look way better. Also - I've taken things for repair and it's extended the longevity of my clothes significantly. And the price-to-value ratio has been undoubtedly worth it. If you're thinking about it, just start small! Chances are good you'll want to keep going.

Katie sounds like she knows whats she s doing. She listens to your wishes, then provides a solution that is creative and even enhances the garment by adjusting it accordingly. Great tailor.

I like what you said about letting go of perfectionism. Need to get better at that myself. Realizing things can never actually BE perfect helps. And a lot of the stuff we love (art, music, movies) is ALSO not perfect!

Great video! I'm a big believer in tailors. However, in recent years, I've been having trouble finding good tailors who can do the work I want at a price I can afford. I ended up with a pile of clothing that needed alterations, but I had to put off actually taking them to the tailor because I didn't have the money. During this time, my mom gave me a high-quality sewing machine from the 80s. I was so nervous to take the plunge and start doing my own tailoring, since I had zero experience sewing. It took me almost a year to actually begin watching some Youtube beginner sewing videos and start.. Since then, I have made alterations to pants, shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies and two jackets. A lot of the work is NOT as polished or perfect as a tailor would do, but anyone looking at me couldn't tell the difference, although I know a pro eying the details would have plenty to critique. I'm pretty happy with the results and know I'll gain more experience over time. Anyway, I wanted to share this info for the more budget-strapped viewer.

I have two different tailors I go to depending on my needs. One I go to for more simpler work (hemming pants or cropping a shirt), and the other is this old Korean lady who does remarkable work! I don’t live in a metropolitan and more a suburban area but should probably venture into the city and find someone more akin to modern stylings. But old Korean lady hasn’t failed me yet!

And dude, the shirt alteration looks sooo siqq!

After years of making sure my measurements were perfect, I’ve moved on to find play in extra room or different cuts that may not be perfectly fitting, but look super cool.

As someone with a short inseam I've been to my tailor numerous times for a hem! Also had them help me with small repairs but I think he'd be able to help me with more if needed.

I had one of my first garments modified by a tailor in my local area, and gotta say I will definitely be using them again.

Love this vid! We have a fantastic tailor called The Golden Thread in Seattle. She’s done jeans, jackets, all kinds of items! Long live the craft of tailoring ❤
