Today we uncover the disturbing reality behind "The Brick Bible," a so-called illustrated "Lego" Bible aimed at children. Despite being distributed at vacation Bible schools and marketed to believers as containing scripture, this book was actually created by a transgender atheist. We delve into its skewed perspective on faith and its ironic commentary on Old Testament stories, revealing how it attempts to argue against the God of the Bible rather than guide anyone toward Him. We also dive into one of our more controversial topics: pets over kids. We answer some of your pressing questions about why pets are not as important as our own children. Why do people celebrate being childless over starting families? Why are some picking first-class travel over family life? Additionally, we discuss the most effective strategy to combat the Kamala Harris campaign. Will traditional campaign methods resonate with the new female voting bloc?

I didn't see anyone else stating the obvious...WHY didn't someone on the VBS leadership team read this book (the Brick Bible) before offering it as a prize to one of the children? I have a difficult time understanding this. Our pastor and discipleship team goes over every curriculum, book, pamphlet, and handout that is displayed/given in our church. I go to a small church, but our VBS is the largest outreach we have every year. To me this book being given out at VBS was a major failure of leadership.

"And, as it turns out thousands of unsuspecting parents and children have been duped by what looks like an innocuous story book Bible."

This is mind boggling. How did thousands of people get duped by it? Don't parents do research and READ what they give to their children and what they pass out in churches?!

I didn’t have a story book bible as a kid, and I was taught everything about bible stories including the blood, I never felt disturbed, just took it as it was.

I'm a childless woman who really wants kids but hasn't yet been blessed with the opportunity, and the treating-pets-as-kids thing is a HUGE pet peeve of mine (no pun intended). I adore my cat and absolutely strive to give her the best care I can, but she is not my "daughter" and I am not her "mother". I didn't adopt her as a stand-in for a child, but rather because I just happen to like cats and would want one regardless of whether or not I had kids. I understand why some people in my position would find the idea of being their pet's "parent" comforting, but to me it just feels like such a massive cope and it drives me crazy that it's seen as almost the default way to be a pet owner (every time I take my cat to the vet the people working there refer to me as her "mama"). Very frustrating! Pets are awesome and imo absolutely count as "members of the family", but having a pet is not the same as raising an actual human child, and conflating the two has always sat poorly with me.

As a mom of a 12 and 10 year old, let me just say how FAST it goes and how MUCH “time to yourself” you’ll find you have in almost no time at all. For years now I e been able to sleep in, my kids can feed themselves, and I can go take a nap, run errands easily, etc. We as parents will have so much more time to ourselves than we ever will have “tied up” in sacrificing for our kids. Even if you have a bunch of kiddos, the same as I already said. IT IS WORTH IT AND IF YOU ARE ABLE, HAVE CHILDREN. And do it in your twenties lest it become more difficult to conceive. You will wish for the messy house when all of a sudden it’s clean, quiet, and your kids are gone. I dread the day 😢

Some people are also allergic to cats and dogs… and not children. So the comparison of “better behaved or cleaner” is weird.

I’m single and childless…I’ve never flown first class and I’m not stress free. These women do not represent single women.

Re: Flying First Class vs having children. Back in 1992, when my younger daughter was 6 weeks old, we flew from Illinois to Texas. When my husband went up to the gate to check us in & he was holding our daughter. The lady at the gate offered to bump us up to 1st class. My husband if course said yes. We never would have gotten 1st class if we had not had our daughter.

Hi Allie, could you point out some particular sections of this Bible that are "not theologically accurate"? I have a copy and to me it's just an illustrated Bible?

😂 I grew up in the 70 -80s I was given picture bibles. Trust me, they were graphic. Allie almost says the quiet part outloud. Why do you have to cut sections out or sugar coat the Bible for children? How do think they would actually feel later on when they do read the whole thing. Or is it your hope they do not.

It bothers me to hear people say they value animals more than people. A person that Jesus died for is more valuable than an animal, and saying that you value animals more than them is saying that you reject God'ss priorities.

"Dogs and cats put their entire booty hole on the ground when they sit." Hilariously true😂😂😂I almost fell out of my chair when she said that!!!!

So true about our current animal culture: heavily promoted by those that stand to make lots of $$ by humanities animals. There is financial gain in convincing people that their pet is equal to family. Each time I bump into this aniology I wonder why many who r so devoted to painless, right to life for animals, think nothing of & support tearing babies apart at any time during their 1st nine months of life. It is a total disconnect. BTW I love animals, I have a tender heart for them & have a certified support dog. I also love people.❤

Any woman that honestly thinks that flying first class is worth not having kids, should never have kids. They are too selfish to be a good mother. I hope they truly enjoy their flights.

Thank you for your comments about the animals. I am so sick of people taking their PETS everywhere! I have allergies to animals, and apparently the animals are more important than me according to these people.

When I was single someone told me that you could see what kind of parent someone would be by how they treat their pets

I love animals too, but growing up I lived in a low income household, and we constantly had 5 to 6 dogs and several cats. I enjoyed having a house full of animals growing up but looking back now I don’t understand why my dad prioritized the dogs over the five children had, specially when I turned 18 I moved out and the first time I went back to visit one of the dogs bit the tip of my finger off I’m not saying that he had to put the dog down, but I don’t understand why keeping a dangerous dog was more important than his own daughters safety …

We discovered this Bible at the library about 10 years ago and I was disgusted and asked the librarian to pull it from the children’s section. I can’t believe it’s still around! I’ve been sharing with parents for a decade how awful this Bible is and you can’t believe the pushback that I’ve received! Thank you for bringing this to the attention of parents!

I am a barren woman who loves children, have worked with children and still do. I also have dogs. I don't believe I worship them. I see myself as their dog mom because I do for them as I would a toddler. But mostly I see myself as a steward. But to say that the worship (or what you call worship) of an animal is a sacrifice of children is not something I agree with wholeheartedly. Why? Because I have tried adopting and you get charged highly to adopt a child. Whatever happened to opening your heart and home to a child. When did it become a purchase? Dogs are cheaper to adopt. I see many women who are awesome mom's and I thank God for them every time I think about it. Yet I also see many who abuse theirs and feel angered that they could accomplish what I couldn't and they throw it away. So yes I love my pets. They bring me joy. But I, in no way sacrifice children for it. It just never works out for me.
