1955 Buick Super: WILL IT RUN AFTER 30 YEARS?! | Junkyard Flip

This 1955 Buick Series 50 Super will become my new junkyard flip after almost 30 years of sitting in a field. Biggest question for this series is, will it run and drive? The story goes, original owner towed an Airstream camper and sold it as a pair after sitting for 27 years. Second owner let it sit for about 2 years and decided to split out the Buick from the Airstream. Now it's my turn, and it's time to determine if it'll run again?

It's crazy how some cars are left abandoned for years until someone takes it and gives it good care. I got excited when the car's engine started when you put the motor oil in the car and it started to run!!
It's a classic car with a lot of history, you don't see too many like her on the road anymore, she's a true beauty!!

On a Buick the gas pedal is the switch to the starter. Turn key to on and push the gas pedal.

I learned how to drive on one of these. These old Buicks are bullet proof. I still see many around. Looks like a fun project.

She's a beauty. You can see them driving around on the old "Highway Patrol" television series. This one's in nice shape!

I was nine years old when I saw the most beautiful ever come into the parking lot at the apartment building. A 1955 Buick Special, two tone paint. Bottom a " pearl" white, ( no rainbow) with a dark blue mettalic fleck. The chrome front. It was one beautiful car.

Never owned a Buick, but wish I did! They seem to be ahead of their time in a lot of designs back then. Good diagnosis. Keep us informed on the Buick progress as these are becoming rare now.

I’m picking up a 55 special next week and I’m going to use your videos to help me along the way, I’m not that big of a car guy but I’m sure this will help.

Those two black pieces, that you said you have no idea what they are trim for the front seat bottoms. As you open either door, they will be at the he sides of the bench seat.

Glad to see these old cars saved from going to the crusher even though they need a ton of restoration work.

Would love to see this old classic fully restored to it's former beauty. I learned to drive on a '58 Buick and have owned several Buicks in my lifetime. Great cars!
