Wanted to drop a comment for those having issues with this trick.  I tried it a few times and could not get it to work, then I tried 1 thing that made it all fall into place.  When you do the first "cross over" move and put the rubber band in between your thumb and hand, make sure the middle of the "X" is slightly above the place where your thumb meets your hand.  I'm not sure why this makes a difference, but that's the only thing I changed and it now works every single time.  

A few others tips for you are:  Make sure you pay attention to the way he twists the rubber band to ensure the correct side is on the top or it won't work.  If you're on your phone, turn it upside down so your hand looks like his hand and you can follow along easier.  Another tip is that you can slow down the video if you're watching on a computer.  Hopefully these tips help you out, good luck!

PS  There's really no need to call the guy names if you can't do the trick.  I mean, it obviously works because he's doing it in the video.  Just take your time and make some adjustments ... and don't forget to thank him for making these kinds of videos so everybody can learn tricks.  Thanks Mismag822!

Easy part is to hold the X at the beginning with thumb and pointer finger. Pinch the X and go inside the thumb. It feels like you are undoing the rubberband because thats what you are doing! Then put the rest of your fingers inside the ruberband! WOW! I DID IT! Thx for the upload!

I found it hard learning the trick from this video as you're looking at the hands upside down to how yours are. If you click on the revised tutorial annotation in the video then the guy there has the camera over the shoulder and makes it much easier to understand the moves.

If you read the description, you'd see that mismag credits the guy who showed him this tutorial in the first place. And he tells you to watch the original video. In that video, he credits the creator of this trick, which it appears to be, Hanson Chien. If the original artist didn't want people to know how to do this trick, he wouldn't have made it available to the public in the first place. So as Skope111 said... "Sir... Calm down, sir."
