The US secretary of state, Antony Blinken, said Washington's security cooperation with Niger was in jeopardy as a result of the overthrow this week of the country's president, Mohamed Bazoum.

Addressing reporters during a visit to Australia, Blinken said: 'Our economic and security partnership with Niger – which is significant, hundreds of millions of dollars – depends on the continuation of the democratic governance and constitutional order that has been disrupted by the actions in the last few days.'

Gen Abdourahamane Tchiani, the head of the presidential guard since 2011, said on state television on Friday that he was the leader of the group of soldiers behind the coup. Bazoum was elected two years ago in Niger’s first peaceful democratic transfer of power since it declared independence from France in 1960.

Ironic that Blinken suddenly doesn't like coups.

Given his involvement in the Maidan one, wonder what HIS percentage is? 🤔

French President Emmanuel Macron
and the United States Blinken condemned the military coup in Niger and said that the rebellion poses a threat to the entire region, and also called for the release of President Mohamed Bazum, whom he called democratically elected and courageous.

But at one time, France and America were completely satisfied with the armed coup d'état in Ukraine in 2014, but we already know that "you don't understand, it's different."

Indeed, this is the essence of the "world based on their rules", if France and the United States benefit from a coup d'état in Ukraine, it is "legal and legitimate" according to their rules, and if not, an armed rebellion and the destruction of democracy...

We need to spend more of that foreign aid domestically. We waste too much of our tax dollars supporting lost causes because they are "democracies."
