Benefits of Playing Chess:
- Promotes brain growth
- Increases problem-solving skills
- It exercises both sides of the brain
- Raises your IQ
- Sparks your creativity
- Teaches planning and foresight
- Teaches patience and concentration
- Optimizes memory improvement
- Improves recovery from stroke or disability
- Helps treat ADHD

Chess is an intellectual battle where players are exposed to numerous mental processes such as analysis, attention to detail, synthesis, concentration, planning and foresight. Psychological factors are also present on and off the board; playing Chess stimulates our imagination and creativity. Every single move a player makes is the result of a deep analysis based on the elements presented on the battlefield.

Chess in its essence teaches us psychological, sociological and even moral values. In a Chess game, both players start with the same amount of material and time. The fact that the white pieces move first is considered to be practically irrelevant —especially because a player typically plays one game as white and one game as black. Consequently, the final result of the battle solely depends on each player. It doesn’t matter if you win by taking advantage of your opponent’s mistakes or by simply avoiding mistakes yourself. Truth is that Chess is an extremely individual sport and our defeats can only be blamed on ourselves and no one else. And this, in the end, only benefits us because we learn to be and feel responsible for our actions and never come up with excuses to justify ourselves.

We also learn that when it comes to our victories on the board, our opponent's mistakes play a more significant role than our own skills. Let’s not forget that a Chess game without any mistakes would be a draw. This way, Chess provides us with another valuable life lesson: be humble at all times.

Dear Roberto, thank you very much for the very valuable chess course. you mentioned the colé in this video. I personally learned a lot from this opening in lesson 104. It is unfortunate that more videos about this very nice opening have not been published. Would it be possible to create a playlist of every variation that could black play against this opening? Thank you in advance for considering it. Anyway. Thank you very much for the valuable lessons. I am very grateful to you for this. Kind regards, Mike🤗

I have not played the h5 Variation but I do like the c5 a lot. Also, the "delay of Castling" was a great lesson learned and this is going to help me a lot in my Pirc Defense.

Great video. I play h5 a lot here as it just blocks the file right away. However I now see the benefits of c5. I’m gonna try both from now on and see what I like best

@NMRobertRamirez Hello Robert, thanks for your chess videos on the Pirc. It has been really useful and is slowly becoming one of my favourite openings. I wanted to clarify one of the playing ways of this. I see many white players playing f3, Be3, Qd2 and O-O-O with the idea of h5 and breaking. Could you please help us out on how to tackle that? I can play c6, b5 and go all out on the opponent's queen side but is that fast enough to catch them?

Thank you so much for your videos. I really enjoy your coaching style and the most important thing is: I understand why i should make this moves. Please keep going the good work. Do you think you could do some more videos for the Vienna or the KIA in this style?

4:25 is there any possibility to get a ( -safe- ) home for King at d7 ?

a) 4..., C5 👍 (1:54) looks simple but high powerful and can be either a strategical battle or a aggressive attacking battle straight out in the middle game itself 👍

They have, but at my level it's more about who blunders the least. I like c5 idea & attacking. My win rate with black is almost 70% over the last month. Feel like I'm really beginning to understand the concepts & subtle differences. But With white, low 50s. I love this Ramirez Pirc! I much prefer playing with black. Gracias coach!
