Hey, Bryan here. I share videos that help web developers up their development skills!
Today I'll be sharing the fifth part of a Django and React Newsletter Signup App using the ActiveCampaign API. We will see how to implement a newsletter signup form with React, and how to make an API request to our Django backend server, which will then communicate with the ActiveCampaign API in order to add someone as a contact, add a tag to the contact, add them to a master list and an eBook signup list, and then also add them to an automation sequence where they can receive a sequence of automated emails to their inbox.
Here is an overview of the things you will learn in this tutorial project:
1. Implement a Newsletter Signup Form with React.
2. Make an API Request to a Django backend server.
3. Have Django communicate with the ActiveCampaign API to perform a variety of different functions.
4. You will see how to add someone as a contact in ActiveCampaign using the ActiveCampaign API.
5. You will see how to add a tag to a contact in ActiveCampaign using the ActiveCampaign API.
6. You will see how to add someone to a master list and an eBook Signup list in ActiveCampaign using the ActiveCampaign API.
7. You will see how to create automations in ActiveCampaign so that when someone gets added to the eBook Signup list, the automation gets triggered and sends out a series of automated emails.
In this part, I will finish implementing our Newsletter Signup App, and we will get to see everything in action. We'll get to see the whole process of someone passing their email into the newsletter signup form, submitting an API request to a Django backend endpoint we setup, getting added as a contact in ActiveCampaign, getting a tag added to them, getting added to the master list, and getting added to the Free eBook list which triggers an email automation sequence.
