Since her father’s death, the kind-hearted but also courageous Cinderella lives with her cruel stepmother and spoiled stepsister, Dora, who treat her like a servant in her own house. During one of her escapes to the forest, Cinderella prevents a couple of men from hunting, amongst them, the handsome prince of the kingdom. They immediately feel attracted to each other, but he is expected to find a suitable bride at the next royal ball, which Cinderella is now allowed to attend. Equipped with a great deal of courage and empowered by her three magical acorns, she decides to stand up for herself and determine her own fate. Is she able to break free from her stepmother’s tyranny and find true love?

I'm always willing to watch a new version of Cinderella, but my all-time favourite is Drew Barrymore's Ever After.

This is the best updated version I've seen of the classic story. It keeps the substance of the original and makes it somewhat believable.

The newer version took a lot of inspiration of the original but the original which I grew up with the Czech version is still number one

By god, I literally cannot believe that after 50 years there's a remake, I remember watching the original many times in my childhood! And just from the trailer it seems to follow the original very closely - the setting, how she meets the prince, even the acorn branch and how her ballgown comes out looks so very much like the original (obviously the cgi was not there in the 70's, but still!). bless whoever's idea this was to remake 😍🙏

Oh wow, I can't believe they made a new version of the original Czech one from 1973. I had seen that as a child on an American children's TV show called Kukla, Fran, and Ollie way back in the day. It was dubbed into English of course, but I always remembered it. And it became my favorite version of the fairy tale. I would love to watch this remake as well. Where can I see it?

thisnis not based on Perrault Cinderella but O Popelce by fairy taler Bozena Nemcova. The original movie is a christmas classic in Europe

Please, people. Learn to read subtitles. Dubbing is such a distraction. The voice actors can't act and the lip flap doesn't match. You are missing a lot of good stuff.
And don't bother with but this is aimed at kids argument.

Highly doubt it'll be able to surpass the original,
