A friend of mine had introduced me to punk music in 1977 with God Save The Queen by the Sex Pistols. I liked it but it was not that exciting as I was fond of heavy metal and thought that it was just another kind of metal (actually I was more excited by the B-Side Did You No Wrong) BUT when he made me listen to Janie Jones by The Clash I knew just after a few seconds (actually as soon as the bass line started) that my musical environment would change for ever.
