Test Tube Torcher Test - WD-40 (new and improved)

Thanks everyone with your positive feedback about resurrecting the TTTTs. With the Chronos high speed camera, our imagery is much better. This was filmed at 2500 frames per second. Please feel free to suggest new ideas in the comment section. Yes, we actually read comments!

The WD-40 proved to be a tough challenger- we did have high temperature and pressure but not enough to burst the vial or cause the WD-40 to reach its flash point.

Looks like the pressure inside the tube was keeping the wd40 in liquid form way past it’s boiling point, the instant vaporisation when it broke was pretty cool!

I am not sure how flammable WD-40 is on its own but the propellant used in the can is extremely flammable. The company I work for at one time made hair spray in the plant I work in. And at that time my job was to put the propellant into the cans. Now because the hair spray was made using alcohol it was flammable on its own but once you add the propellant it becomes even more flammable. That being said, once the propellant has evaporated from the WD-40 the remaining liquid may not be as volatile as you may think.

Use of the wax slug projectile device at the end was AWESOME! Which just goes to show that a well-aimed, high velocity projectile can solve most problems!

Love it.
1- air rifle cheaper than 12 G and i think same effect and maybe none of the fire arm BS of youtube.
2- maybe try the heat source under the tube instead of side on .( more even heat and get the ingredients hotter before the tube fails just do to thermal stress ?)
3 - :) what happens if black powder is heated to a god awful temp and pressure . Then plinked with with a BB gun :)
4 - oh oh black powder mixed with alcohol and heated to a god awful temp. :) :)
