Biking to Olympic Hot Springs

What an incredible place! Tucked away up in the forested mountainside in Olympic National Park, these hot spring pools make for a perfect winter soak in the naturally heated, beautiful hot water seeping out of the faults. Because of the washout along the Elwha river, getting to the hot springs now requires a bike (or very long walk) up the vehicle-less road, before even reaching the trailhead, so less crowds visit. Putting in the extra distance is worth it and makes the soak feel all that much better. The closest town is Port Angeles, Washington.
Thanks for watching!

Super cool, also love the extra effort you put in to adding the historical information and photos.

Beautiful! I need to move north. I love cool air and hot springs way more than hot air and cool water.

What a great adventure, those hot springs are right in my back yard, I grew up there plus the Boulder creek trail into a number of mountain lakes to fish !
The last year the hot springs resort stood, i snowshoed into the site and photographed it !
Sad to see that happen !
Over the years I’ve been in several natural pools up there and enjoyed !

Well done, you covered it well along with Nina as always along !

It’s good to see Nina out and about again. Have all the pups been adopted?

Love that place. And it is so different than two decades ago when we would go up regularly.

Olympic hot springs used to see a whole lot more people before the road washout - have any of you been before?

I've been to Olympic National Park 4 times. One of the best National parks in America.

I remember when I could almost drive all the way to the springs! There was a campground there too. Oh how the ravages of time have changed this place…

Superb video. was there in the 60's as kid. I had no idea there was any access at all. This will have to be a 2024 MTB/hike adventure

Thanks for making this, you've made a great recourse for this trail that showed me a lot i wasn't able to find in the written trip reports.

That's a great adventure. My wife and I did that a few years back right after the dam removal. Do you have anything else planned while stateside?

My mom and dad honeymooned at olympic hot springs resort in the 1950s. You could drive there then.

I’ve been there. I think there are 8 or more pools the first being the hottest. We did did same as you and mountain biked in. They are clothing optional. When we were there everyone was naked. Loved the place. 🎸🔪
