Scouting to find old cellar holes & metal detecting them

How to find old cellar holes ( foundations , root cellars ) out in the woods of New England to metal detect. These old cellars are from old farms where colonial homes once were and all that's left are the stacked rocks from hundreds of years ago. Follow the rock walls, look for cart paths and read the landscape. In this video we find the old site and do some metal detecting to see what is buried in the ground. Just digging up a few things to find out if we should go back with the group is the objective. A cuff link and old button were easily found with the Fisher F19 metal detector and we will be back at this 1700s site soon.

That was a long hike but you found the homesite in recovered some relics which is wonderful Dame. The view that I saw on my phone is beautiful and you were in a lovely area, it helps to be sheltered from the wind when you are that high up, I hope it wasn't too bad going back sweetheart. I like the thing, some work went into it whatever it was. I look forward to seeing you again soon, good luck and happy hunting God bless you love and hugs Mary-Ellen UK LFOD

Hi Dame great to see you out and about, that site you found is really beautiful, imagine living there, apart from the rock moving, tree clearing etc, not to mention cranky indigenous people. Looking forward to you and the lads coming back for a dig, that could be epic. Totally awesome to see you again, take care and stay healthy, Cheers from kangaroo land.

6:20, that's a talio cuff link. It has a running fox on it. Popular in the late 1700's. Great find, congrats! I found a complete set linked (not a pair) earlier this year at a 1790 property. Mine was pewter but they made brass and gilted/plated ones as well.
