If you're surprised that speed limits weren't introduced until 1901, you should know that it wasn't common to even have a car until the 1920s. If you had a car in 1901, you were seriously rich.

Fun fact, dueling is still legal in Boston MA: statutes say it's legal to duel in Boston square aslong as its signed off by the mayor. The law was forgotten because overall it was banned and forgotten about
