What considerations need to be factored into metal roof design when it comes to roof slope?

**********************************

In episode 2 of the Standing Seam Metal Roof Design Series, the Sheffield team cover slope factors of a metal roof. The discussion includes differences between steep slope, low slope, hydrostatic, hydrokinetic, and other aspects. Testing standards and engineering are based on slope as well, so it's important to know how slope will affect compliance to local and regional codes.

Episode topics include:
►Steep slope vs. low slope
►Component differences
►Testing standards
►Design considerations
►Design help

Please note the installation details and methods shown in this video are for reference only. Sheffield Metals recommends following their published installation details or for WTW projects following the required details issued and marked approved for that specific project.

Rain isn't the only consideration. We have snow here in Northern IL and an advantage to a steep roof is the snow sliding off. It is also a disadvantage when snow slides onto a sidewalk. I thought this video would talk about that consideration. I've heard the things to stop that called snow angels. How are they installed?
