Consider using foam discs on top to stop the light getting through in the case of 2inch net cups. You cut a slit to the middle so it wraps around the plant and helps stablish it. You can make these from cutting sheets of foam. You can also use a pool noodle, cutting slices from it.

I had good results overplanting romaine lettuce in a 3 1/2 inch cup. I have a tabletop grower that has two cups that size. I got four times the yield with 4 plants in one than with just one in the other. Still experimenting though. The light isn`t adjustable on these though and began burning the leaf tips so I started picking leaves early. Gonna try two buttercrunch lettuce plants next. These growers are unique and pump water from below through a top section so a lower water level below never affects water level on the roots.

I love your videos and what you're doing. I have been growing a lot of peppers but have decided to move them outside and repurpose my grow rack. How does the spinach do in the 1.5 vs 2 inch net pots?

Precisely what I have discovered. I broke many cups trying to pull basil roots out of the towers I use. Decided to grow just lettuce now. Seems you ned a variation of different sized holes depending on the number of growing spaces you have in your hydroponics systems and types of plants. I can see now where rectangular channels are probably the best setup.

Great video! I wondered why you recommended 1.5” net cups and others talked about 2”.

Great videos. Have you ever tried using a pool noodle instead of a net cup or other substrate in your setup? I'mvery new at this. I've seen people use this instead of rockwall. Your thoughts?

Cool video. FYI to fill a 2'" net cup, they make larger rock wool so no light will get through.

I use 1 inch for lettuce. Tried 3 inch with tomato and peppers they start falling over and I have to tie to strings from ceiling. I just got 6 inch net pots today to try beef steak tomato's and peppers in 5 gallon bucket.
