Mr. Benjamin Sahlstrom makes installing a gas furnace look easy. I know it's not easy; it just appears that way because he does this every day. We appreciate and respect your craft, sir.

Thank you for advocating for heat load calculations. They are important!

I have a house that from 1948 to 2012 had a section of copper pipe used for natural gas. I did not know until I helped my plumber repipe my gas line under my house. We sized the correct black pipe for the number of gas appliances. Thank you again for your interesting videos..

Been in the hvac biz. for 24 years. I like the furnace base your brother fabricated. need to patent that and sell to hvac supply houses. Seen someone make a Ton of Money by coming up with the clear P trap.

First class video. Very thorough and easy to understand! You allowed me to install a high efficiency furnace in my garage. Now I will be able to work out there and not freeze my but off!

To be honest, during my Gas Technician 2 Apprentice me and my supervising technician and I installed 4 furnaces. It was a lot of work, and I learned a lot. Good video. 👍

Bro thank you. I was doing resi work from 2018-2019 then went into commercial being a tinknocker so it’s been a while since I’ve done a resi install. I have to go back to resi for a bit waiting on a big commercial job in spring and needed to refresh myself on the process and this is a great video. Lmao on the old return cutout that’s hilarious, and I always love seeing old school dangerous electrical work. Old school stuff is so cool.

I'mma come back to class tomorrow because this is a lot to take in. I'm going to have to rewind and start from the beginning as well because I need to know everything and I need to know that I'm doing it correctly. Thank you guys for the informed video I'm learning a lot and I'm just going to have to watch this second time maybe even the third and fourth time!

Hey Ben, so I'm a relatively new subscriber. I've been watching your older videos, and came to your most recent video to post a comment requesting that you move your added text from the bottom of the screen where it interferes with both closed captions and also YouTube play controls (timeline, play, pause, etc).

But after watching this video, I noticed that you've already done exactly that. Thank you so much! It's aggravating to have to stop, turn off the captions, back up the video, and then hit play (and wait for the controls to disappear) in order to read any text you've added to the video.

Love your channel... I've learned so much!

Check out the tagged furnace options! If you doing a DIY furnace install I would highly recommend purchasing a furnace from Mr Cool. They offer a full warranty even for DIYers. I linked to all of the common furnace sizes as well as the LP conversion kit that you'll be needing.

Good luck on your installation!!!

One thing you didn't talk about is setting the cooling blower speed properly for the size of a/c installed.
Most of these furnaces ship with it set to high, for a 2.5 to 3 ton. But in a northern climate a 60000 btu may be matched with a 1.5 or 2 ton, necessitating cutting the speed down to get proper dehumidification.
