2) How can you be sure that the size of the frame/perimeter will match an integral number of blocks?

So the first block that goes into the corner, then the other end blocks along the vertical track don't need sealant? Just snap in?

No sealant on the horizontal spacer under the second row or subsequent rows either?

Yes, you would use a perimeter channel above the last row of blocks. You cut the top channel in half lengthwise before installing it. This will allow the top row of glass blocks to be installed. I just installed a single row of 4x8 blocks in my shower stall using the channels and spacers.   My question is that since I have a six inch opening and 4" blocks, how do I trim it?    I installed the shower side channel to be flush with the stud so I can get the Hardibacker over the lip of the channel.    I now think this might be a mistake since the tile will be 3/4" away from the channel.   Anyhow, it would be nice if there were some installation ideas for a non carpenter installer who needs to make these decisions.

Also, the website says to use the sealant on the exterior seams, but to use grout in wet environments on the interior.   Does this make sense?   Since the sealant would certainly be a good seal for water on the interior also?

You don't have to use the perimeter channels but could instead follow the ProVantage II installation instructions which call for anchors.

In this closed opening how do you install the top row? Do you not use a perimeter channel above the last row of blocks. If you do use one would it not be difficult to get the last block in?
