I come back to this video every once in a while and it floors me just as quick as it did when I heard it on 6 music back in 2012 or so. I feel so much compassion for Hunter. The knowing look, the journey behind that. Just...so beautiful. The first lesson is - love yourself.

1:41 - 3:29 is one of my favorite moments in music i've ever heard

Starting the day
Staying awake
Everything will change
While you're asleep
While you're breathing
Do you believe?
No one is waiting
Brains without names

I found myself turning back to look
At the seas of people beneath me
Betrayed the design by release of immature emotion
I went to work
Had my suit jacket and hat in hand

A gate's crashed and flung wide
Used by our servants;
Heads are hanging
I went to church and forgot I ever could believe
Questions for the past of their clear minds
Were their thoughts without designation and division
Something desperate's up my sleeve
And no lines allow for mapping
Cause I close my eyes and feel the teeth of the machine
Walking on
Us underneath
Ever harder to believe
I was ever holding my suit jacket
And hat in hand
Your nightmares/your creation
I objected with a knife
And when I finally let my guard down
I was in the middle of the sea and drowning

Don't be afraid
Don't be afraid
Everything will change
While you're asleep
While you're breathing
Do you believe?
No one is waiting
Brains without names

I got my rejection letter to graduate school today. I also found this song and it made me feel a little better and like a little less of a failure.

How the video starts and how the video ends is the same. But what's in between is what goes on in the head. The struggles, the moments of doubt, not knowing if you'll fail or succeed. But all of this I think makes you ready.

One of the best modern, and way underappreciated bands. I just love their sound.

I know it's been 5 years since then, but PLEASE listen to the entire album. It's a life changing experience, not kidding.

This song ended up being my top listen of 2023 at 1143 plays. I’m have autism and adhd and this song has just been IT lately. Finally accepted I’m a trans woman after 5 years of thinking about it and lots of therapy. E has been a truly life saving treatment

At the end, did anyone else think genuinely, "yes! we made it through the video without cracking a full smile!" ?

Song of the year, in my opinion.

This band is on another level, people don’t realize it. If Lower Dens passes their whole career in obsurity people are going to look back a couple decades from now and they’re gonna be like “how the fuck?”

Jana is an incredible talent. I am totally fascinated by this album. I have been listening to it for a year now. The theme is intriguing. The music and lyrics are incredible. Ah-mazing talent!
